The Mourdas village in the district of Hile Alifa, Logone et Chari department was attacked on the night of Friday, August 14 through to Saturday, August 15, 2015 by Boko Haram fighters.

The fighters, about twenty, arrived by motorized canoes into the small village of Mourdas and encircled it with fire.

According to a military source, many people died in the flames, "but the Cameroonian soldiers who arrived shortly after saw only four people shot dead."

At the same time that the fishing village of Mourdas was facing these terrorists, another group of assailants attacked the village of Kafouram still in Hile Alifa in the Logone and Chari division. Several houses were also torched in the village before the arrival of Cameroonian forces.

In the Mayo Sava Division, the Islamist sect fighters ambushed the gendarmes patrolling between Mora and Doublé. A policeman was injured in the attack and his bike was carried to Nigeria by the attackers.

As suicide bombers are put out of harm's way by the Cameroonian authorities, the sect has opted for isolated attacks.
