Fotokol: Several people die after Boko Haram fires rockets in Cameroon

After Gambarou in Nigeria, Boko Haram fired rockets to the Cameroonian city of Fotokol Sunday, Koaci learns from a secured security source.

The Islamist sect fired several rockets into the Cameroonian city of Fotokol, from its Nigerian base of Gambarou in Nigeria.

On Monday morning, several deaths and material damage were recorded, "we are continuing the death tally of this attack, but we can already indicate that at present, a dozen people were found lifeless," noted our security source.

Another credible source identified as Madi, a resident in Fotokol, noted that the acting chief doctor at the Fotokol hospital, is part of the victims.

Our informant confirms that the lifeless bodies were found at the Fotokol market square. According to the first facts from the investigation, the firing from Boko Haram targeted a BIR military base.

The renewed vitality of the Islamist sect in th epast few weeks is of major concern to the authorities. But the Minister delegate at the Presidency of the Republic responsible for Defense reassured of the status of the troops, "the Cameroonian forces have control of the situation", said the Mindef on Thursday during the delivery of vehicles to the 101 base in Yaoundé.
