Former Mayor accused of embezzling FCFA 250 million

The trial against the former mayor of Mombo (2007-2013) in the Mungo Division, Littoral region, and his co-defendants has been open at the TCS.

The court specialized in the diversion of public funds of over 50 million FCFA pursues the indicted for the alleged embezzlement of 250 million FCFA.

In detail, they revealed the charges brought against the former elite and his collaborators. “The expert’s report revealed a large embezzlement that has undermined all sectors of the municipality’s activities. Without being exhaustive, Djouokou and his colleagues have hijacked the sum of 32 million FCFA destined for the purchase of fuel in marquetry," the newspaper informed.

They also criticized the alleged misappropriation of “64 million FCFA disbursed from funds transferred to the bank by the partners of the municipality; 71 million FCFA for fictitious refund (purchase of a dump truck paid by FEICOM); 1.65 million FCFA through the road toll; 4.4 million FCFA from the servicing of the residence of the mayor; 100 million FCFA representing undue travel expenses; 1,125,000 FCFA of taxes on agricultural products.”
