Fighting women violence: Womenfolk take the challenge

A two-day workshop has been organised in Yaounde to strategize on ways of sanctioning perpetrators of crimes against women.

The workshop was organised by the Association for the Fight against Violence on Women, a Non-Governmental Organisation based in Yaounde.

The meeting brought together women working in the area of sexual and gender-based violence.

Proposals arrived at shall be put together in a document to be forwarded to the Parliament for implementation.

This workshop comes at a time when many young girls have taken the bold step to talk about the deception and poor treatment they received while sojourning abroad in the search for greener pasture. While some are sexually harassed, others are treated worse than slaves.
