Fighting HIV-AIDS: Ministry of Forestry organizes seminar

The Ministry of Forestry and Wildlife has organised a two-day seminar aimed at combating HIV-AIDS among the workers of the Forestry sector.

The seminar comes on the hills of the 28th edition of the World AIDS Day celebrated under the theme: Zero new infections, Zero Stigmatization and Zero Deaths.

The seminar was presided over by the inspector number one at the Ministry of Forestry and Wildlife Mr. Ndanga Vincent Awa who on behalf of the Minister of Forestry and Wildlife Ngole Philip Ngwese.

Participants of the seminar will be expected to begin an intense nationwide sensitization campaign among staff in the Forestry Sector so as to ensure an increase in efficiency and high productivity.

The seminar comes after the Minister of Forestry and wildlife signed a decision stipulating the various procedures workers must follow to improve their health conditions.

Remarkable among the guidelines are, compulsory HIV screening test, and regular treatment for infected persons in the Forestry sector.
