After the participation of the female national team at the World Championship which took place in Canada 2015 where they finished in the eighth-finals, the Committee for Standardization of the Cameroon football Federation (Fecafoot) awaits the financial result of the participation of the indomitable lionesses in the competition.

FIFA has to pay to the body directed by Joseph Owona, the sum of $ 500,000, or a little more than 275 million Cfa francs as premium participation, and qualification for the second round.

For the first round, the participation premium amounted to $ 375,000, while the premium for qualification to the knockout stages is $ 125,000, making it a total of $ 500,000 that Fifa will award to Fecafoot in the coming weeks.

"The Committee for standardisation has never hidden these benefits. We always published them. For the Lions, we published whatever we earned and what we did with the money," said Joseph Owona on Tuesday during a press briefing in Yaoundé.

"But it must be said that this money is not to be spent as bonuses, it is for the development of football. Maybe we can take a part of it for bonuses but that money is used to better develop women's football and the Cameroonian football," he added.
