Fiber optic cable breaks in pipeline

According to a statement from the Cameroon Telecommunications (Camtel) released yesterday, an incident occurred on the transmission network on Sunday, June 21 in the morning.

This is a partial tear of the fiber optic cable on the pipeline right between the regions of the East and Adamawa, 45 km from the town of Kongolo.

This incident led to the interruption of Internet communications, wireline and CDMA fixed in the northern part of the country and part of neighbouring Chad.

The company's technical teams are at work and the service should return to normal by the end of the work.
