Cameroonian Issa Hayatou arrived in Zurich to take office as President of FIFA, on Thursday.
He will be at the helm of FIFA as interim President during Joseph Blatter’s 90 days suspension after a corruption case.
"This is certainly an unprecedented situation for FIFA," said the boss of African football.
He added, "We remain focused on the necessary reform process, the presidential election and support for ongoing investigations. Regaining public confidence is a crucial objective. It is essential that FIFA continues its mission to develop the game and organization of international tournaments."
The Acting President of FIFA Issa Hayatou will remain in Zurich until next week, where he will head the extraordinary meeting of the Executive Committee on Tuesday, October 20.
To recap, the president of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) is the first African to be at the helm of FIFA.
