FECAFOOT Crisis: Amateur clubs get involved

Nkou Mvondo Nkou Mvondo

Prof. Nkou Mvondo, the founding president of Ngaoundere Fc blasted the attitude of the Standards Committee for not having consulted the amateur clubs, the foundation of the Federation, at the time of writing the laws to be adopted on August 5.

He spoke on Friday in Yaounde at a press conference organized by the Acfac (Association of amateur football clubs of Cameroon), of which he is the legal adviser to the director's office.

“ To speak of the Cameroon Football Federation, is to speak for the football clubs. This is not done by individuals, but the clubs that bring together football players. You have to make consultations. And I see there were consultations and I am missing. We in Adamawa, have we been consulted even one day? We see in these consultations people we do not even know. I must say that I have never seen the president of the Adamawa football league in a football stadium. In 15 years of existence of Ngaoundere Fc, I saw him twice. He is said to represent the Adamawa league while living in Yaounde. We are the actors, that is to say, representatives of football clubs, who must handle this case."

The law lecturer at the University of Ngaoundere offers solutions to the standardization committee for the crisis: "We are here to say that the crisis does not help us. The output of this crisis should be through the inclusion of the requirements and the willingness of the actors, because this is our business. When we want to build a house, it's not the engineer who tells us how many rooms the house should have. The engineer is the Committee that has established the said standardization. When they were introduced, it was to consider certain areas of requirements, namely those of FIFA, because it is the international trusteeship. On the other side, there were requirements of Cameroonian law that we must respect, which is the requirement of the actors. But, obviously, the Standards Committee has considered the requirement of FIFA. We are not the "go-to-war" type. We are here to tell them that we are here and that what we are doing is all a mistake. I say to the Standards Committee: reassure us, let's go to the table, put aside our egos and place ourselves before interest and emotions, because this country belongs to all football and we are here for it," he suggested.

He says he found fifty inconsistencies in the current texts proposed by the FECAFOOT Standards Committee. Prof. Nkou Mvondo took the opportunity to indicate the mission of University teachers which is to research the provision of courses and development support. And this is the last title as prominent university teachers were appointed to the Standards Committee. But none of them is in his element, because its president is a constitutionalist (Pr Owona), another criminalist member (Pr She Minloa) and one political scientist (Pr Mouangue Kobila).

And unfortunately, not present in their area of competence, they did not have the humility to approach experts and practitioners who are the football clubs, the foundation of the Federation.
