Eto’o drags Nathalie Koah to court over stolen watch

Affaire Samuel Eto'o : Nathalie Koah Affaire Samuel Eto'o : Nathalie Koah

Nathalie Koah is back to court and this time, she has being accused of “theft” by Samuel Eto’o Fils.

The verdict which was expected on December 31, 2015, from the case against Samuel Eto’o experienced a turnaround.

According to the daily newspaper Le Jour on Tuesday, January 5, 2016, the court decided to re-qualify “the offense previously charged on Nathalie Koah for unlawful retention of someone’s property.”

She will return on trial on the case. The newspaper said at the opening of the case, Nathalie Koah was accused of “conditional threats, obscene publications, blackmail, defamation, breach of trust and theft.”

For the first five charges, the prosecutor considered that the charges are not sufficient to secure a conviction. However, for the theft motive, “we cannot say exactly whether Nathalie Koah stole Samuel Eto’o’s watch (watch she wears) or not. Just as we cannot prove exactly if it is Eto’o Fils who offered it to her. I do put it back to the court to deliberate on it," said the prosecutor.

According to Abah Fouda, lawyer of the accused, the problem could be resolved very easily. “Since there’s doubt, the benefit should weigh on the part of the accused…Nathalie Koah,” he had pleaded.

But the court decided otherwise.

Samuel Eto’o was also accused by his ex-girlfriend of “conditional threat, blackmail, obscene publications and influence peddling.”

According to the newspaper, “the prosecutor concluded in the applications that none of these offenses were characterized. Eto’o is not guilty."

The judge will rule on simultaneous complaints of the two accused after examining the new proceedings against Nathalie Koah
