Essimi Menye 'finally' escapes justice

Many times heard by the judicial police officers, Essimi Menye, former Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development (MINADER), has been a victim of an illness a few days before his dismissal from the government on October 2, 2015.

He took a medical evacuation to Europe, instead to take refuge in the United States.

Lazare Essimi Menye, to be heard on January 13 and 27, 2015, by investigators of the Special Criminal Court (SCC), in the premises of the Ministry of Justice, finally received a medical evacuation to follow intensive care in Europe, under police surveillance.

The former IMF economist and statistician left the American Hospital in Neuilly in France, where he was evacuated. For several days, he was spotted in the United States by many Cameroonians who have communicated their new address. According to press reports, the minister is installed in 6304 Shiplett Blvd Bur.

Whereas in Cameroon, for his recovery, Essimi Menye took to the US which according to many local media, he moved into an apartment. At that time, he negotiated a position at the IMF, reports the Cameroonian press.

The medical withdrawal of Essimi Menye had surprised many Cameroonians. Initially opposed, networks eventually pressurized Biya to grant that Essimi Menye goes abroad for a check-up.

The Minister of Public Health had passed the medical record of the concerned head of state to motivate the medical evacuation of his former colleague.

And against the medical expertise of the Secretary-General of the Presidency of the Republic, as is the open support of the General Secretary of the PM services, all relatives of the former MINADER, have agreed Essimi Menye be treated abroad.
