Enoh Meyomesse writes to DGSN

The politician recently released from prison demanded the annulment of the measure prohibiting him from leaving the territory.

Released from Kondengui central prison since April 27, Dieudonné Enoh Meyomesse is still a centre of attaction. In a letter dated May 19, 2015, the politician and writer demanded the annulment of the measure prohibiting him from leaving the territory of Cameroon. In the note, addressed to the Delegate General of the DGSN, Martin Mbarga Nguélé, he reviewed the circumstances that led to this restriction.

According to him, everything dates back to February 2011, when he wanted to embark on a flight with the Air Ivoire company. He was on his way to Bamako in Mali to take part in an international conference.

He finally did not succeed in boarding the plane. The Douala airport station indicated that Emmanuel Edou, DGNS at that time, gave instructions that it can leave the national territory.

Ten months later, he was arrested. This finally resulted in a sentence of seven years in prison closed by the Military Tribunal for complicity in aggravated theft and illegal sale of gold. Then new episodes arose at the Supreme Court which condemned him to 40 months in prison for "aggravated concealment", before his release in April.

Supported by the network of defenders of human rights in Central Africa (Redhac), Dieudonné Enoh Meyomesse requested Martin Mbarga Nguélé, the cancellation of the restrictive measure "given that I intend to move out of the Cameroonian territory these days," can be read on the correspondence.
