Cameroonian Prime Minister Philémon Yang has visited the city of Yaoundé to launch the construction phase of the first modern slaughterhouse in the country carried out by the Spanish group Emmsa.

With eight channels of slaughter and cold stores of a storage capacity of 10 000 carcasses of 200 Kg, this slaughterhouse will be equipped with refrigerated transport vehicles.

Infrastructure of the same type, but of smaller size (storage from 250 to 5000 carcasses of 200 Kg), will also be built by the same company in the cities of Kribi, Ngaoundéré and Ebolowa. These investments generally absorb 10 billion Cfa francs, we learn.

These pojects, aimed at modernizing infrastructure in the beef and pigmeat sectors, are part of the triennial plan of the Cameroonian Government for the improvement of the living conditions of populations and growth recovery with a total budget of 925 billion Cfa francs.
