ECCAS security experts meeting ends with major resolutions

The meeting of security experts of the Economic Community of Central African States, ECCAS has just wrapped up in Yaoundé with a greater resolved to combat Boko Haram with collective strategies.

The ECCASS deputy Secretary General, Guy Pierre Garcia emphasized “the ECCASS heads of State have given us the mandate to give Boko Haram sleepless nights.

If they attack Cameroon and Chad then they have attacked the entire sub-region. We will go on the political, diplomatic and communication front to take the lead on them.

On the fringes of the meeting, the Central African Foreign Minister, Toussaint Kongo Doudou who paid a courtesy visit to his Cameroonian counterpart declared, “The Central African Republic will help Cameroon and Chad politically and militarily. We are prepared to send troops to the frontline.”

In less than 24 hours, Ministers from the region will converge on Yaounde to pry into the proposals of the security experts for onward transmission to the forthcoming Heads of State summit next Monday, in Yaoundé.
