Dr. Mahamat kidnapped by alleged Boko Haram militants

Dr. Abba Mahamat has been abducted by heavily armed men aboard motorcycles in Mayo Sava in the Extreme - North of Cameroon April 3, 2015.

According to security sources, Dr. Abba Mahamat the President of Double health centre Management Committee was abducted at the Tchakamari market not far from Mora by a dozen armed men aboard motorbikes.

Dr Mahamat Abba was shopping at the market as usual when these armed men arrived shouting Allah wahcouba.

They fired warning shots as people ran in all directions to escape. Apparently they know the doctor well because they went directly to him and without saying anything, they pulled him on their bikes before heading towards the border," said a witness.

In the area of Lake Chad, several midwives had been abducted by the Islamists seven months after the kidnapping of the 200 schoolgirls of Chibok in Nigeria.
