Douala: Suspected hard drug network dismantled

Packets of cocaine, cannabis, heroin and electrical appliances were seized on August 9, 2015.

Some 19 suspects are currently in police custody after household items and hard drugs, including cocaine, cannabis, heroin and musical and electrical appliances, a stethoscope, rolls of cloth, cartons of sacks, gas cylinders, gas plates and a sack containing mobile phones of doubtful origin, were found in their keeping.

Under the supervision of the Littoral Regional Delegate for National Security, police men combed the Makea, Ndogpassi, New Bell and Nkololoun neighbourhoods in the early hours of Sunday, August 9, 2015, and seized items of doubtful origin without receipts. The detained suspects include Ayuk Stella, Ali Garba, Jules Lakoudi and Happi Henry. They were taken to the Mobile Intervention Regiment N° 2 and later transferred to the Judicial Police for further interrogation.

In another development, men of the Police Special Team for Rapid Intervention, ESIR, arrested five boys in an abandoned building at Ndobo in Bonaberi with 24 packets of cannabis, three packets of cocaine and fake banknotes of FCFA 2,000 and FCFA 1,000 denominations. They were taken to the Central Police Station N°3 Douala for questioning.
