Dir. of Political Affairs granted audience in Yaounde

The Director of Political Affairs of the Commonwealth Secretariat, Amitav Banerji has been received in audience by the Minister of External Relations, Pierre MoukokoMbonjo and the ELECAM Board chair, Fonkam Azu’u.

At the Ministry of External Relations, Mr Amitav Banerji and Minister Pierre Moukoko looked at ways of maintaining and strengthening Cameroon’s 19-year old relations with the Commonwealth.

Mr Banerji also praised Cameroonians for their hospitality towards the Commonwealth parliamentarians; an action which goes on to strengthen the country’s ties with the Commonwealth.

Before his stopover at the Ministry of External Relations, the Director of Political Affairs of the Commonwealth Secretariat, Amitav Banerji visited ELECAM chairman, Fonkam Azu’ur.

Discussions at the ELECAM office on Tuesaday 7th September 2014 focused on ways of strengthening relations between ELECAM and the Commonwealth.

Mr Banerji noted that the Commonwealth had sent observers to witness the last elections in Cameroon and make reccomendations.

The Commonwealth Secretariat Director of Political Affairs was amongst the officials attending the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) Conference in Yaounde.
