Amadou Ali Amadou Ali

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister in charge of Relations with the Assemblies, Amadou Ali, received MPs as guests for a parliamentary session at the Yaoundé Hilton hotel on Tuesday.

Among the dignitaries present were Marcel Niat Njifenji, President of the Senate, and Cavaye Yeguie Djibril, Speaker of the National Assembly.

Many members of the government under the guidance of their leader, Prime Minister Philemon Yang, senior officials of the Presidency of the Republic and the general secretary of the Central Committee of the CPDM, Jean Nkuete were also at the dinner.

The session was on some deliberations and questioning, where each parliamentarian was asked to give an account on the management of certain sectors of the nation.

They were welcomed by a speech from their host. Amadou Ali, however, stated the reason he again held this session of both houses of parliament.

According to Amadou Ali, Cameroon remains engaged in war against the Islamist sect, Boko Haram. He urged the MPs and members of government to do their utmost best to support Cameroonian military involved in the defense of the territorial integrity of the country.

Aside the seriousness, the session turned out to be a pleasant one between MPs and members of government.
