A meeting of the Chiefs of Staff of the Armed forces of Nigeria, Niger, Cameroon, Chad and Benin, for the multinational force to fight Boko Haram in the Lake Chad basin, was held in Chad yesterday.

The meeting was to give a boost to the deployment of troops that has already been delayed.

In principle, the quotas designated as part of the multinational force was meant to be deployed by the end of July 2015. But for practical organizational reasons, the troops were able to position themselves around the lake as agreed by the Heads of State on July 11, 2015 in Abuja.

According to the Chief of General Staff of the Chadian army, it's time to give a boost to the military process.

For General Mahamat Seid Brahim, "the time to take action is now. The International Joint force must make necessary arrangements to appropriate, as soon as possible, its areas of responsibility to eradicate Boko Haram."
