Laurent Serge Etoundi Ngoa, Minister of Small and Medium Enterprises, Social Economy and Handicrafts met with his Central African Republic counterpart, Mauricette Psymhis on Friday to discuss the development of the craft industry.

For Ms. Mauricette Psymhis, Central African Minister of Tourism, Arts, Culture and Handicrafts, the meeting was successful. "We discussed its overall political scale, its impact in tourism development in terms of investment and infrastructure including what Cameroon adopts on a daily basis. But also the organization of promotional events where Cameroonian expertise is recognized," she told CT.

The wish of the foreign delegation is that once the CAR electoral process is completed in October or November, "trade with Cameroon could intensify." In return, the Cameroonian Minister of Small and Medium Enterprises, Social Economy and Handicrafts (MINPMEESA) assured the readiness of his ministry.

"Cameroon is always willing to sail with her brothers in the sub-region. CAR and us are bound by history. We are therefore obliged to walk together. We will work with them, assist or share experience whenever possible or necessary," said Laurent Serge Etoundi Ngoa.

Mauricette Psymhis was actually in Yaounde last week as part of a mission to the Cameroonian government linked to the preparation of legislative and presidential elections to be held on October 18, 2015 in Central African Republic and for which Cameroon expertise will be helpful.

It is in the margin that she decided to pay a courtesy visit to her counterparts in the same industry. She was accompanied to MINPMEESA by Jean-Baptiste Zinaï, CAR ambassador in Yaounde.
