Rectors and other personnel of Cameroonian state universities have held a working session in Yaounde to examine difficulties faced by universities in all domains.

The meeting took place on Monday 27th October, 2014 under the framework of the Coordination Committee of University Institutions.

While chairing the meeting, the Minister of Higher Education, Prof Jacques Fame Ndongo mentioned that his Ministry is not only out to unite university institutions towards grade improvement but also to harmonise activities within the university community.

Participants at the roundtable discussed problems faced by Cameroonian universities like insufficient infrastructure and finances, slow delivery of certificates and the mismanagement of funds, amongst others.

The committee members came out with measures to facilitate the smooth running of activities on the university campuses, while taking into consideration the new university governance document prescribed by the Cameroon Head of State, Paul Biya.
