Codex president visits the PM

Awilo Ochieng exchanged with Philemon Yang on the work of the Fao/Oms Committee.

Arrived in Cameroon within the framework of work of the 21st session of the coordinating committee of FAO and WHO for Africa, CCA, Mrs. Awilo Ochieng was received on Wednesday by the Prime Minister, head of the government.

The president of the Codex Alimentarius Commission expressed her satisfaction with the way in which Cameroon led the CCA. "We are in Cameroon because it is the country which is the coordinator of the DC Africa.

It has been almost 4 years now that Cameroon coordinates the Africa area and it was done in a very brilliant way", she expressed with the head of the government.

Awilo Ochieng, who was accompanied during this maintenance by the Ambassador of Switzerland in Cameroon, Claude Altermatt, recalled that the 48 Member States should discuss during their meeting in Yaounde their regional strategic plan for the years to come.

Several products were examined during this work, and it is left, according to her, for the Member States to choose those to which their attention will be related.

For the president of the Codex Alimentarius, the regional standards are useful for the products which enter the regional trade. During the work in Yaounde Cameroon in particular offered two products: the ‘Bobolo’ and the "Okok".
