A Cameroonian soldier was killed in a clash between the military and rebels at Bangui, capital of Central African Republic, on August 2.

In the clash, which took place at a 5 Kilometer area, one person was killed and several wounded. Some members of the family of Sergeant Agbor Djomo Jonhson, residing in Yaoundé, confirmed the death of the soldier of the Versatile Intervention Group of the National Gendarmerie (Gpign).

This is a tragic loss to the United Nations Mission for Securing the CAR (Minusca).

Born on April 17, 1983, the marshal died on Sunday after about a year out of Cameroon. John, as he was affectionately called, visited Cameroon last month. He had obtained permission to meet his family. Since the death of the Sergeant Chief, Agbor Djomo Johson, his wife, Ruth, has been left in grief. The deceased, with seven years of service, is survived by a daughter.
