Stationed in Mora, Mayo-Sava, the 2000 soldiers of 21st Infantry Regiment of the Chadian National Army from time to time make incursions into Banki, Nigeria to hunt down the fighters of Boko Haram.

Aside being a little busy on the military terrain, the Chadian military are stepping up to other businesses in the Mora neighborhoods and the city garrison.

"They pick our women because they do not know what else to do with their money," complained a resident of Mora. "Illegal abortions have doubled in neighborhoods, and it brings worry to no end," adds a trader. "In addition to abortions that worry us, we learned that there is also sexually transmitted diseases. If nothing is done, Mora will beat national records in gonorrhea or AIDS!" warns Bulama, a mason. He added: "We do not stop our Chadian brothers, but fear for the health of our brothers and sisters."

The subject, we learn, creates anxiety even in the court of the Sultan of Mora. "We learned that they are short on condoms," says a member of the court.

According to our investigations, the military doctors, for both Cameroonians and Chadians, have expressly made a demand for condoms to their hierarchy, "at least 10,000", says a senior officer in charge of military health.

"We will be lobbying aid agencies and other NGOs in the hope that they will respond very quickly because it is urgent. The distribution of condoms to soldiers is to be one of our priorities," continues the military man.
