The two Chiefs of Staff of the Cameroonian and Chadian armed forces have stated that the Chad-Cameroon military coalition is adapting its new strategy to face the Islamic sect, Boko Haram.

During a conference on Thursday, the generals of the Cameroon army, Rene Claude Meka, and Brahim Seid Mahamat of Chad, after evaluation of the first six months of war, indicated that "the war against Boko Haram has not lost concentration."

"Operation ‘Logone 2015’, name for the joint military operation against the Boko Haram, will not lose focus. Rather, measures are being taken to counteract attacks that involve suicide bombers," recalled the commanders of the troops.

In interview with the media, Cameroonian General, Rene Claude Meka, explained that "Boko Haram will seek refuge in any of the countries of the subregion that intends to destabilize.”

He went further to state that the army is “determined, more than ever, to fight this enemy and to destroy it in order to restore social peace so dear to our country and neighbouring countries.”

For the Chadian General, Mahamat Seid Brahim, "the appreciation of the deployment of Cameroonian and Chadian forces as part of Operation ‘Logone 2015’, is totally satisfactory. The two defense forces, in total harmony and symbiosis, are in the process of performing the tasks assigned to them,” he stated, to justify his good report on operations by coalition troops.
