The president of the National Assembly, Cavaye Yeguie Djibril, has called for vigilance during this Ramadan period due to fears of a possible suicide attack by Boko Haram.

The June session of the current legislative year was done yesterday. The President of the National Assembly in his closing speech emphasized on the possible attacks by the rebels. There were six Bills tabled by the government for consideration by the national representation during the session.

These concerned the physical protection of raw materials, non-proliferation of nuclear weapons, promotion of small and medium-sized enterprises in Cameroon, the amendment of the Act of 2002 general Code of taxes, the gambling and money games business plan and the allowances system of the automobile guarantee fund.

He also made a point on the deployment of members of the House at the international scene including the first vice-president who led a delegation of parliamentarians to the 41st session of the Parliamentary Assembly of La Francophonie at the moment.

The fight against Boko Haram has become a national cause. Cavaye Yeguie Djibril has made it a personal matter. At the June 2014 session, he never ceased to draw the attention of each and everyone present in his opening and closing speech.

This year, he remained faithful to his traditions at the close of the June session, which came two days after elements of the sect suffered a stinging defeat in Bodo, a locality of Makary district at the Department of Logone and Chari. "When you return to your constituencies, I ask you to intensify the vigilance against the Islamist sect Boko Haram".

But the president of the National Assembly remained convinced of internal complicity with these terrorists without faith or law. He made an appeal on behalf of national Representation to the authorities to initiate and intensify "physical checks, in order to flush out any setbacks of the Nebula within our brave people, especially at this time when the Muslim community is preparing towards festivities that will mark the end of Ramadan fast", he said.

Admittedly, in his speech, he praised the action of the responsible and patriotic press whose support was useful in the dissemination of information and awareness. But he railed against "the other press", which seem to fool national and international opinions that "the war against Boko Haram is a conflict of people”.

However, the political expert indicated that he was referring to the analysis by the press on some parts of his speeches on the war, without forgetting the dispensation on the dismissal of his body guard, the gendarmerie captain Bouba Simala.
