Vice president of Fifa, Issa Hayatou, represented Joseph Blatter at the Women’s World Cup 2015 Canada which ended on Sunday July 5 2015 in Vancouver.

The international football body has been in turmoil for several weeks with the arrest of seven former and current leaders for corruption, fraud and money laundering at the request of American justice in May.

Due to this, Joseph Blatter gave up going to Canada for the Women's World Cup, citing “personal reasons.”

"Until everything is clarified, I will undertake no trip," said the 79 years old Valasian to the Welt am Sonntag newspaper, without further specification.

Thus, Issa Hayatou assumed presidential duties in the final at the BC Place Stadium in Vancouver. The Cameroonian proceeded with the awarding of the trophy.

This is the first ever absence of Blatter since he was elected as the president of Fifa in 1998. However, he announced before the start of the tournament that he intended to attend the game in Canada on June 6.

On the other hand, he told Weltam Sonntag that he would go to Russia at the end of July for the groupings of the 2018 World Cup qualification.
