Campaign against improper demarcation in Yaoundé

YaoundeYaounde

The urban community of Yaoundé launched an action against the uncontrolled construction of buildings at a neighbourhood called ‘Fanta Citron’ at Mvog Ada in Yaoundé.

The floods which repeatedly occurred in Douala and Yaoundé recently, are the reasons for the eviction exercise.

Several neighborhoods at Fanta Citron were classified "dangerous” by the head of the urban community.

According to the government, the goal is to free the drains to optimize the flow of running water and to put a stop to the improper demarcation of buildings which contribute to the floods.

The exercise will also extend to other flood zone areas in the capital.
