Cameroonian army kills 116 Boko Haram combatants

According to sources at the Ministry of defence, veterans of the Boko Haram sect carried out Wednesday, December 17, 2014 a massive attack on the border town of Amchide.

The small town of Amchide turned into a battleground Wednesday. Nearly 5000 fighters of the Boko Haram sect rallied and simultaneously launched several attacks in several localities in the Cameroonian borders with Nigeria.

In the morning, while a column of military engineers were being escorted on the Amchide-Limani route by the elements of the rapid intervention battalion (BIR) the attackers from Nigeria blew an anti-personal mine.

At the same time where the explosion took place, hundreds of attackers launched an assault on the city of Amchide. The Cameroonian army vigorously repulsed them killing 116 people according to the Ministry of defence.

The Cameroonian army vehicles were damaged, 02 land cruisers stolen, 01 land cruiser burned and two engineering trucks carried.
