Cameroonian General heads Cameroon-Chad coalition

René Claude Meka, general of army corps and Chief of staff of the armed forces in Cameroon (CEMA), was brought to the head of the coalition of the Cameroonian and Chadian armies to fight the terrorist sect Nigerian Boko Haram which threatens to destabilize Nigeria and its neighbours.

This designation comes ten days after the arrival of a Chadian contingent of 2500 soldiers in Cameroonian territory to lend a hand to the Cameroonian army whose bravery previously helped inflict heavy defeats to the fundamentalists.

The choice of this senior officer who served as Chief of staff of the armed forces in Cameroon for nearly fifteen years, demonstrates the will of the Cameroonian and Chadian authorities to firmly fight Boko Haram.
