The Cameroonian authorities have decided to strengthen the "Emergence" operation to increase security measures between Cameroon and the Central African Republic on the one hand, and Cameroon and Chad, on the other hand, APA learned Thursday from an official source.
According to the Ministry of defence, this is to increase military personnel at the borders between the two countries where elite troops have been the rapid intervention battalion (BIR) and the motorized joint Brigade (MDB).
Moreover, the high command announced the aerial survey by helicopter of the mountain ranges in these areas where, noted one military source, "the armed gangs which attack the surrounding localities are sporadically" hiding.
This decision comes in a wake of terrorist attacks of Boko Haram in N'Djamena, the capital of Chad, but also, to a resurgence of insecurity at the border with the Central African Republic because of the exactions of the armed bands of the neighbouring country.
