Cameroon is the fourth most indebted African country in French hospitals

The Board of Medical Establishment Commission (CME) through its network of hospitals had a meeting with the Public Assistance -Paris Hospitals (Ap-hp) and concluded that Cameroon is the fourth indebted African country when it comes to medical evacuations.

With two million euros, slightly less than FCfa1.5 billion, Cameroon has poor African students in relation to its management of medical clearings in France. According to reports by Le Messager, published on Thursday, July 23, 2015, Cameroon ranks as the fourth worst African payers of medical bills.

After was Algeria (FCfa 19 billion for 2439 patients in 2014), Morocco (FCfa 7 billion) and Tunisia (FCfa 2 billion). Out Of eight countries covered by this classification, Cameroon was overcome by Gabon, Senegal, Egypt and Congo; the accounts are less resilient with the Public Assistance - Paris Hospitals (Ap-hp).

According to the report of the Medical Establishment Commission (CME), in 2014 only, Cameroon had 213 patients in French hospitals as compared to 160 in 2010. An increase of 53 medical stays a year, "because it is essentially medical evacuations."

The report indicates that the debts of foreign countries are caused by the special credit, the foreign health organizations but also by the embassies of those countries in Paris.

"The head of state of Cameroon is known for visiting France regularly for health reasons. Medical evacuation is also practiced by officials after an agreement with the President Paul Biya," concluded the newspaper.
