Cameroon experiences scarcity of Domestic gas

According to sources, domestic gas is becoming increasingly rare in Cameroon since a fortnight.

“for two weeks already I'm looking for domestic gas to no avail", Monique Ebelle, student at the University of Douala complained.

For this young student, "domestic gas has become a new unit of value to validate”.

Same as Monique Ebelle, housewives too suffer greatly from this new domestic gas shortage in Cameroon.

"Every day, I borrow a motorcycle to the city looking for domestic gas but unfortunately I do not find it. The situation is more than me because I have to cook everyday,"noted Nathalie Monkam, housewifeto at the Bepanda neighbourhood and mother of six children.

In the points of sale of domestic gas, it is explained that this shortage is as a result of the fact that '"Camgaz", victim of counterfeit cylinders have been withdrawn from the market'.

Faced with this scarcity of Camgaz domestic gas cylinders mostly used in households and industries, many have resorted to firewood.

"It is very complicated for me in this rainy season, because wood is wet and does not burn well. It gives me headaches and the common cold. It's really painful," explains Hélène Biyag, housewife at city-Sic Douala.
