The Ambassador of Turkey in Cameroon, Omer Faruk Dogan, announced that three defense agreements will soon be signed between his country and Cameroon.

This announcement was made after his meeting with the Minister of defence, Edgard Alain Mebe Ngo'o.

Arrived at the end of his stay in Cameroon after three years of service, the Ambassador of Turkey stated that his country is in full support of Cameroon in the fight against the Islamic sect, Boko Haram, with one of the recent attacks on September 3 in Kerawa, in the Far North Region. According to the Turkish diplomat, the announced defense agreements will soon be signed in this direction.

During the parliamentary session of March 2015, the Cameroonian Parliament authorized President Paul Biya to ratify with the Turkey defense agreements. Through its agreements, the Cameroonian armed forces will benefit from training in Turkey, for information, information exchanges, and Turkey will provide small arms to Cameroon, credible sources disclosed.

To support the displaced victims of the atrocities of the Islamic sect in the Far North Region, Omer Faruk Dogan gave the Governor of the Far North a batch of 45 tons of food which was mobilised by the Turkish development agency, Tika, and the Cameroon association for aid solidarity, to a group of Turkish nationals in July.

The Ambassador indicated that this gift (consisting of cartons of oil, soap, sugar and pasta, and bags of rice, peanut and salt) is part of the war effort from Turkey, to support the combat that the Cameroonian army is engaged in, against the Nigerian Islamist sect Boko Haram for several months.
