Cameroon and Turkey sign security agreement

President Paul Biya has authorized the security cooperation agreement between his Cameroon and the Government of Turkey in Ankara.

According to sources, the agreement that was signed June 19, 2014 seeks to combat all aspects of terrorism.

The cooperation will fight against particularly organized crimes, transnational organized crime, cybercrime, maritime crime, the fight against the illicit production and trafficking of drugs, psychotropic substances among other vices.

The two countries will work together, against the trafficking of cultural and natural properties, trafficking of weapons, ammunition, explosives, nuclear and biological materials, economic and financial crimes, including money laundering, trafficking human beings, immigration and fraud.

It should be noted that on March 2013, Cameroon and Turkey completed the signing of seven cooperation agreements in the area of economy, defense, communication and diplomacy.
