Cameroon and Great Britain team up against Boko Haram

"We are determined to win," Nic Hailey, Africa director at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (Foreign Ministry) of Great Britain, was received yesterday afternoon on behalf of the Head of State by the Minister and Secretary General of the Presidency of the Republic, Ferdinand Ngoh Ngoh.

He noted the fight against Boko Haram as a teamwork saying, "the terrorist threat affects us all." It is in this vein that he is in Cameroon to discuss with authorities the ways for better coordination of action between the countries in the front line (Nigeria, Cameroon, Chad, Niger and Benin) and their partners in this fight.

He is also examining with more precision, the support that his country could offer Cameroon.

Following a one-hour discussion, Nic Hailey recalled to the press the team dynamics at the Paris summit on security in Nigeria last year which the Heads of State of the countries of the sub-regional coalition took part with the French head of state and representatives of some allied countries, like Great Britain. He also mentioned the ministerial meeting in London, England, and another summit in Niamey, Niger. Other meetings were held later in the same spirit.

The Africa director at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office reveals that his country, is a team with other partners and the countries of the regional coalition currently working on the basis of an information coordination cell based in Abuja, Nigeria.

In that sister country, the cradle of Boko Haram, Nic Hailey reveals that London is contributing to the tripling of the capacity of military training.
