The shock of the deadly bombings of Monday in the Chadian capital crossed the borders of Chad.

The Cameroonian government on Monday evening expressed solidarity with the Chadians with which Cameroon is committed to combat the Islamist sect, Boko Haram.

For the first time, Boko Haram has struck in the heart of Chad while several local experts announced that the sect is weakened.

The Cameroonian authorities with which KOACI spoke to reassured that security apparatus are in place and "hotspots of the country, are under control. From our monitoring station here at the General delegation of the national security (Dgsn), the headquarters of the police, we can control what happens on our borders, in sensitive cities and in the country's corners," indicates a Divisional Commissioner of police.

The country has an intelligent monitoring system. A 4th generation technology installed with the help of Chinese Huawei, technical partner of the Cameroon telecommunications (Camtel).

The device consists of a post on which is placed one or two rectangular plates. Apart from these, a miniature camera is in place. The rectangular plate allows them to stay connected to solar energy to ensure continuous monitoring in the event of power failure.

"Some of these cameras may have a range of 5 kilometers. They can detect any thing hidden in vehicles or worn under clothing. The information collected, are sent to our control room. The images are stored and can be used during investigations," added our source.

"This surveillance project aims to reassure our fellow citizens and to guarantee order. Besides, we have other means of surveillance but with the terrorists, who know how to hide, we should always remain cautious," noted the senior police officer.

The whole country is gradually being connected to this network of surveillance. Eventually, thousands of surveillance cameras must be installed all over the country.

The border towns of Kye-Ossi, (South) border with Gabon and Equatorial Guinea, to Kousseri, Waza, Garoua-Boulaï, (in the far North and North), which have served as project cities project, drivers are already benefiting from this technology. The aim of the authorities is to connect all the country.

Yaounde, nearly a hundred points are under surveillance. People feel reassured but fear terrorist attacks like those that occurred in N'Djamena which could not be controlled by the army.
