Cameroon - Egypt: Diplomats discuss Fifth Joint Commission

The Egyptian Ambassador to Cameroon, Sherif Salah Eldin Elleithy has been received in audience by the Minister Delegate at the Ministry of External Relations in charge of Relations with the Islamic World, Adoum Gargoum.

Discussions during the meeting centred on planning towards the upcoming fifth Egypt-Cameroon Joint Commission scheduled for 2015 in Cairo-Egypt.

This fifth joint commission will focus on improving cooperation ties between Cameroon and Egypt in domains like agriculture, transport, trade and health, amongst others.

The Egyptian Envoy explained that after the fourth commission in 2010, the subsequent edition was postponed due to the crisis Egypt faced in 2011.

H.E Eldin Elleithy also noted that his country was doing everything possible to make this fifth edition of the joint commission a success; just like the previous which concluded with the signing of cooperation protocols and agreements between Cameroon and Egypt.

The Ambassador of Egypt to Cameroon also used the audience to congratulate the Head of State President Paul Biya for his diplomatic effort towards the release of the 27 hostages kidnapped from Cameroon by the terrorist sect, Boko Haram.
