Camair-Co’s fleet beefed up with two MA60 aircrafts

The Minister of Transport, Robert Nkili has received two new Chinese-produced MA60 aeroplanes acquired by the Government of Cameroon for Cameroon Airline Company, Camair-Co.

The Transport Minister was at the Yaounde Nsimalen International Airport on Tuesday 7th April 2015 to receive the MA60 TJX-SE and MA60 TJX-SD aircrafts.

After a brief inspection, Minister Robert Nkili confirmed that both planes do meet up with the modern and internationally recognized aviation requirements.

Both planes have a 50-seat capacity. Aeronautics experts say they have been conceived to fly short distances at low altitudes, consume less fuel and have high-rated security mechanisms.

During the reception ceremony, the Transport Minister expressed the wish to see Camair-Co breakaway from its traditional routes: Douala, Garoua, Maroua and Yaounde, to explore new destinations like Bamenda, Bafoussam, Bertoua, Ngaoundere and Tiko. The new destinations, he argued, will facilitate the movement of Cameroonians.

On the occasion, there was a flight demonstration of the aircrafts after which was the signing of administrative documents. The keys of the newly acquired MA60’s were formally handed over to the Board Chairman of Camair-Co.

With the acquisition of the new aircrafts to beef up Camair-Co’s fleet, administrative authorities hailed the Sino-Cameroon cooperation.

The management of Camair-Co was once again advised to cautiously handle the new airplanes and ensure high profitability.
