Camair-Co gives advantage to passengers flying to France

Camair-Co Camair-Co

Camair-Co airline gave preference to Paris passengers to take flight to the detriment of passengers bound for other destinations.

The demonstration by the 50 passengers in front of the Yaoundé agency finally calmed down on Monday.

After the waves on September 7, 2015, the company promised an "imminent Return Flight. A detailed program will be available to passengers as soon as possible. The company has rented a plane from sister companies. However, the plane chartered shall function at the French capital, Paris."

That at least, was the quintessential statement issued during the 1pm national news on the Cameroon Radio and Television, CRTV. In the said statement, Camair-Co announced the plane made available to Paris passengers was a rented airplane. This announcement also pointed out that the departure of that flight was scheduled for that day.

This was done without further details. It was a turnaround and a few hours late. During the 5pm news, it was announced that there was a plane arriving “in the coming hours.” However, the management of passenger destinations to Cameroonian towns such as Maroua or African countries like Chad, Gabon, and the Democratic Republic of Congo were not mentioned. Yet these destinations were requested by some of the passengers who burnt tires in front of the Yaoundé Regional Agency of Camair-Co on Monday.

Same Situation

The hiring of this aircraft, which will only serve Roissy-Charles de Gaulle, has not solved the problem either. Not all passengers in Paris were unable to board the flight that night. Only a few people who were among the "oldest" were logged.

Beyond this aspect, passengers to return to African cities have still not found solutions to their problem. Some passengers have received messages from the airline company cancelling their expected flight yesterday but will be contacted for further details. Beyala N. for example, must return to Kousseri via Ndjamena.

"I received a message informing me that my flight was canceled and I will have more information later. I called the head of the agency who told us that they would keep me abreast of any developments. Now I am the one to make the call,” she quipped.

The latter has therefore not made the trip to the Nsimalen International Airport, as has been requested to passengers by officials of Camair-co on Monday. Just like her, some five passengers preferred to go to the regional headquarters of the airline while carrying their suitcases.

Unfortunately there is no interlocutor over there. The grid is down, yet the staff is working inside and ignoring customers, where some were dozing outside, who were waiting for a service that the company is unable to provide for some time.
