It is on this premise that the newly adopted Masters program, one of its kind is intended to make the students sees and those who represent the mind and eyes of the society through professional training and practice.

This decision was arrived at by the executive board of trustee during the first board meeting marking the start of 2016 in the University. The adoption of this proposal brought forward by the President of CUIB Rev. Fr. George Nkeze had the endorsement of all and the blessings of Bishop Immanuel Bushu, Bishop Diocese of Buea who doubles as the Chancellor of this entrepreneurial University in Cameroon.

He re-iterates that this program will not only help students gain professional education that permits them to create jobs for themselves and others but shall enable them to easily integrate into the society and get good jobs.

In an exclusive interview with “Cameroon Panorama”, the president of CUIB Rev. Fr George Nkeze upholds that the program is not only content oriented but very practical and structured to meet the demands of the emerging market. This program is designed at producing the thinker scholar, who shall eventually come out as genuine intellectuals, who think and act academically and spiritually.

The specialized masters and MBA programs have been slated to start by March 2016. These programs include; Masters in Sustainable Agriculture, Masters in Organic Animal Production, Biotechnology, and Livestock policy. In this regard, the idea of professional training remains primordial in the hearts of the executive board of trustee in the Catholic University Institute of Buea. As the great scholar Bernard Fonlon once said, “if you do not train a student to think from the mind of the society, you have thought him nothing of genuine worth”.

The second part of this ceremony saw his grace Bishop Immanuel Bushu celebrate his first holy mass for 2016 marking the beginning of the second semester session in Campus A of the University.

In his brief but inspiring homily, his lordship the Bishop of Buea Diocese enjoined the students and staff of the University to remain steadfast in the midst of temptation as they live a life of love, charity and sharing in 2016. Additionally, the Bishop reminded them not to stray way from their faith.

According to him, they will come a time in their life where they feel like God has abandoned them. In this regard, the Bishop urged them to stay focus, revealing to all that it is when things are difficult that God is ever present to help not when everyone lives in luxury.

Correspondingly, the event ended with a joined New Year wishes to Bishop Immanuel Bushu for his relentless and tireless sacrifice in the growth of the church and the Catholic University Institute of Buea by the Faculty staff and students of CUIB.
