The Cameroonian parliamentary institution is in mourning. Youssoufa Daoua, CPDM Senator of the northern region died Sunday in Garoua after a short illness.
According to relatives of the deceased, they were shocked by his unexpected death.
He previously served as the mayor of Garoua before his first election in the first batch of senators in 2013.
"A simple discomfort," says one, and then a sudden disappearance leaves the relatives and acquaintances in dismay. He was also at the top of the CPDM list in the first senatorial elections held in the country.
Before embracing a political career that has led him to the National Assembly as an MP, Youssoufa Daoua had held important positions in the Cameroonian public administration where he has been deputy prefect.
Within his party, the Cameroon People's Democratic Movement (CPDM), he was President of the Benue Centre I section.
