CERAC’s 20th Anniversary:Members implore God’s intervention

Men of God from different religious denominations in the country have prayed that God almighty should bless, assist and protect the Founding President of the Circle of Friends of Cameroon (CERAC), Mrs Chantal Biya, as well as the other members of the charity organisation for the positive impact they have made on the lives of needy people in all the nooks and crannies of the country.

The prayer was made yesterday, December 14, 2015 at the headquarters of CERAC during an ecumenical prayer session as part of activities to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the association. The prayer session was animated by the Gospel Singer Choir of Messa II and the Saint Augustin choir of the Yaounde Cathedral.

The first part of the prayer session was coordinated by a Muslim leader who asked Allah to protect CERAC ladies as they continue to extend a helping hand to those in need. Later, Rev Emmanuel Bassam Masok of the Presbyterian Church in Bastos, Yaounde through prayers urged the women in faith to continue in the humanitarian activities with God as their helper. Rev Masok told CERAC ladies “where there is hatred sow love, where there is doubt sow faith, where there is despair sow hope, where there is darkness bring light and where there is sadness sow joy”.

While reading from the book of Matthew 25:31-48, the Secretary General of Eglise Presbytérienne Camerounaise, Rev Dr Odji’l Toung said CERAC women are a veritable example of those who will inherit the kingdom of God for “they have fed God’s people when they were hungry, gave them water when they were thirsty, cloth them when naked, took care of them when sick...”.

The Archbishop of the Yaounde Diocese, His Lordship Jean Mbarga, outlined five biblical truths CERAC women have shown to mankind through the book of Acts 3: 1-10 when Peter and Paul healed the lame man. By reaching out to the needy people CERAC has displayed God’s glory to man in his needy state, when such needy people got assistance and how the assistance has transformed their lives giving reason for them to dance to the glory of God.

After prayers, the General Coordinator of CERAC, Linda Yang, alongside the clergymen and other guests proceeded to launch the open-house day during which CERAC through pictures and other products exhibited to the population what they have done for over 20 years to needy people in all the ten Regions of the country.
