CDC case: The trial against Mbua and Co.

Eight accused persons were expected to be present at the TCS on Monday to proceed with the Cameroon Development Corporation (CDC) case against Gabriel Oteil Mbua and seven other co-defendants. Only four were present at the TCS in Yaoundé.

They were granted until the next hearing to present their lawyers or the court automatically provides them with legal assistance. They were accused of misappropriation of public funds amounting to 113,099,000 CFA francs between 2012 and 2013.

Richard Wanky, president of the judges panel was proficient in identifying the accused and their defense counsel. Out of the four defendants present, Gabriel Otiel Mbua and Daniel Njiki had no lawyers.

The funds in question belonged to the CDC whose legal team was led by Mr. Christopher Ndong Nveh. His letter of incorporation and that of the other defense counsel are expected as requested by Richard wanky.

The next court hearing which will be on July 2 will include the witnesses for both parties.
