Cameroon Railways (Camrail) has launched an operation called "Promo youth safely", to reduce the transport rates at 20 to 25% for students or young people aged between 10 to 25 years, on the main lines of the national rail network.

This operation will begin during school holidays and will last until October 31, 2015.

According to sources, students will benefit from a 25% discount on rates for 2nd class ticket on trains that aligns Yaoundé to Ngaoundéré, located in the northern part of the country.

At the same time, young vacationers aged 10 to 25 years are entitled to a 20% discount on the rates of the InterCity premium class, the high-speed train that connects the two main cities of the country Yaoundé and Douala on four rotations daily.

Being the operator of the Cameroonian railway for 15 years, Camrail officially carried 1.5 million passengers and a little over 1.6 million tonnes of goods in 2014.

This resulted in a turnover estimated at more than 60 billion FCfa and net income that peaked at 4 billion FCfa.
