Bush meat banned in Boumnyebel

In this area, the dealers in the bush meat business have given up on this kind of trade since the people had been sensitized by the administrative authorities of this locality on the non-consumption of bush meat.

Following the signed decision by the governor of the Center, Joseph Wilson Otto, August 20 which stipulated in its article that it "banned in all the area of the Center, hunting, sale,collecting and the exposure of bush meat", the various prefects, persons in charge of, Forests and Wild life, Public health and the Trade are, each in charge of the application of the aforementioned decision.

"With the prevention against the Ebola virus, the regional delegate of Minfof signed a note prohibiting the marketing and the circulation of bush meat. We are thus intransigent on the consumption of this meat", explains Jacques Meligui Mbong, head of forest station of Boumnyebel.

"A few weeks ago, a meat cargo containing, antelopes and snakes had been ceased at the forest station", he added, an operation which was proceeded in the presence of Theophilus Arsène Ampong, the sub-prefect and the elements of the police station of public safety.
