Brigade Headquarters gets new Commander

Lazare Anaba, who was selected by President Paul Biya on May, 15 has been commissioned as the new commander of the Honneur et Protection de la Brigade du Quartier général (BQG) on June, 19, 2015.

He was commissioned by Colonel Donatien Melingui Nouma during a ceremony at the parade grounds of the Brigade headquarters on June, 19, 2015. The ceremony was done at a time when Cameroon faces multifaceted threats to the Far North and in the East.

While it is a fact that these threats seem far from the Yaoundé area where the BQG serves, "it remains true that as the defense of the capital, BQG must at all times and in all circumstances protect this city of all these forms of threats”, instructed Colonel Donatien Melingui Nouma.

This is especially when the calamity caused by the Islamic sect, Boko Haram is now severe. Faced with the risk of coming in contact with suicide bombers and life threatening situations in Cameroon, the commander of the BQG recommended vigilance, dexterity and continuous gathering of informations.

Battalion commander, Lazare Anaba has an applaudable job profile and his career in the army gives a real picture of who he is. He was Chief of the Military Security branch of the Eastern Region in 2013 before his appointment as Chief of Staff to the 43rd battalion powered operation in Mayo-Oulo.

He was promoted to the bataillon honneur et protection de la BQG. Lazare Anaba also holds a Staff degree from the School of Command and General Staff of the Army of Nanking in the People's Republic of China.
