On the 1pm news on CRTV on October 23, 2015, Issa Bakary Tchiroma was categorical: "The terrorists Boko Haram are in disarray and they need to be told that they would be stopped. They are afraid and I assure you that because there is a wild propagandist rumour that suggests that somewhere in our territory, these bandits have planted their flag. To address the lie with a categorical denial, not even a square centimeter of our territory is occupied by these bandits."

The remark of the Minister of Communication follows an information circulating since the morning indicating that the city of Kerawa, border town with Nigeria in the Far North region is in the hands of Boko Haram.

For the spokesman of the Cameroon government, "our defense and security forces are now combing the whole of this part of our territory in a combative state of honor and loyalty as we know them to be, and I ensure you that everything you're going through is for a better world. So my first approach is to say that this rumour is false, it is disgusting. Boko Haram will never succeed in planting a flag on a single square centimeter of our territory. Defense and security forces, administrative authorities, our people are found in harmony wherever it is necessary and it should like that. This is the serenity that reigns over the whole territory and particularly at the front line. Our people normally go about their occupations," said Issa Tchiroma Bakary.
