Nigerian president, Muhammadu Buhari, has completed a working visit to Cameroon on Thursday.
On Wednesday, he had a tête-à-tête with his Cameroonian counterpart, Paul Biya. The two heads of state had a lengthy discussion on ways to improve their cooperation in the fight against the Islamic State in West Africa (Boko Haram).
Yaoundé and Abuja have often had divergent positions. This visit, characterized as a Council of war, should properly resolve tensions.
The majority of the exchanges between Muhammadu Buhari and Paul Biya revolved around the fight against the Islamic State in West Africa (Boko Haram).
The heads of State in their respective speeches stressed the urgency of pooling their defense forces to overcome the common enemy, the jihadist group which hinders the ambitions of development of the two countries.
