A patrol of security forces have found the bodies of 10 men and two women, slaughtered with machetes, after an attack by Boko Haram at Mourdass in the Hile Alifa District, Far North Region.

The incident at the small Cameroonian village occurred in the early morning of Tuesday, August 25, 2015.

“Security forces arrived after the attack. They were in pursuit of the attackers who had fled to neighboring Nigeria and as always, Cameroonian security forces faced a challenge. They do not have a right to go after them in the Nigerian territory,” said a military source.

On August 23, unidentified elements and suspected members of Boko Haram, in two separate attacks, burnt part of the Manwadji village in the district of Mora. The terrorists kidnapped several people and took them to Nigeria.

In another attack, suspected members of Boko Haram killed four people in Ngoumouldi, 25 km from Mora, in the department of Mayo-Sava, Far North region.

The sect, which has been weakened by retaliation from Chad-Cameroon coalition, have changed tactics and are now resorting to ‘surprise’ attacks in villages.

Attacks attributed to Boko Haram have displaced and killed many people in and around Cameroon.
